How to Fix Comfast Extender Not Working Issue?
1. Power Cycle the Device
First of all, power cycle or reboot your Comfast WiFi range extender. Perhaps some minor technical issues are causing the trouble that you are facing right now. You can try eliminating them by rebooting your extender once. Here are the steps to reboot:
Turn off the extender.
Unplug it.
Remove all other cables.
Plug it back.
Turn on the power button.
Is it working now? We hope it does. If it doesn’t then try the next hack.
2. Check the Power Supply
Have you checked the power supply to the Comfast extender? Perhaps the issue arose due to poor power supply to it. Check the power socket into which the extender’s power adapter is plugged. Also, check the power adapter. Both should be damage-free. The cable should not be loose. If necessary, use a UPS but the power supply to the extender needs to be optimum.
Does this fix the issue? Is the extender working now? If the answer is still a no, then you have other hacks to try.
3. Verify the Connections
How have you connected the Comfast extender to the host router? Is it a wired connection or a wireless connection? If it is a wired connection, then make sure the cable that you have used is not damaged or making loose connections.
If you have placed a wireless connection, then the extender must be placed within the boundary line of the router’s range.
4. Relocate your Extender
If the issue still exists after following all the hacks mentioned above, then it looks like there is an issue with the extender placement. The following tips will help you confirm about the same:
Have you placed your extender near home appliances?
Is it sharing its location with other networking devices in the home?
Did you place the extender in some corner, basement, attic, or behind any furniture?
Is it placed in a congested or enclosed area of the home?
Have you placed it on a lower shelf?
Is it placed near walls or windows?
If the answer to most of these questions is yes, then relocate your Comfast WiFi extender right away. Choose a central, open, and airy place away from other devices in your home, and then see if the Comfast extender works now or not.
5. Reset it
If the Comfast extender seems adamant to work then reset it to the factory settings now. You can do this by resetting it by pressing the Reset button located on it. After resetting it, set it up again from the very beginning.
